His commitment to community service spans decades and reflects a belief that real leadership begins with showing up, listening, and taking action.
Jeffery's journey has never been defined by titles—it has been defined by service.
Throughout the years, he has volunteered extensively throughout the Miami Valley, investing countless hours into programs and organizations designed to uplift individuals, strengthen families, and preserve the rich history and culture of the communities he serves.
As a dedicated volunteer with the Troy Strawberry Festival, Jeffery has proudly contributed to one of Ohio's most cherished community traditions, helping bring residents and visitors together in celebration of local heritage, civic pride, and community engagement.
His passion for education and historical preservation led him to volunteer with the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and local historical initiatives, where he worked alongside respected historian Terry to conduct educational Underground Railroad tours. Through these tours, Jeffery helped preserve and share the powerful stories of courage, sacrifice, and freedom that shaped Ohio's role in American history, ensuring that future generations understand the importance of those who fought for liberty and justice.
Jeffery's impact can also be felt through his extensive work at the Lincoln Community Center, where he has worn many hats in service to the community. His work has focused on helping young people develop confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles. Through mentorship, athletic training, and innovative programming, Jeffery has empowered countless youth and families to recognize their potential and pursue brighter futures.
Believing that strong communities are built through service, Jeffery has also devoted significant time and energy to civic engagement and civil rights advocacy. As Acting President of the Ohio Tri-County NAACP #3205, he has worked tirelessly to advance community outreach, promote equal opportunity, strengthen civic participation, and advocate for issues affecting working families throughout the region.

His vision is built on the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to succeed, every neighborhood deserves investment, and every community deserves leadership that puts people first.
Through decades of volunteerism, mentorship, civic engagement, and community advocacy, Jeffery J. Harris has demonstrated a simple but powerful principle:
Leadership is not measured by what you gain for yourself—it is measured by how many lives you help improve along the way.
"Service Above Self. Community Before Politics. Progress Through Action."
